Allen Tuten, long a student of the history and culture of Alaskan native people, will share his knowledge and enthusiasm in his talk scheduled for Thursday, April 18, at 5 p.m. in the Union Museum of History and Art, 211 N. Main St., Farmerville. Tuten has logged 26 visits to Alaska, where he worked with Eskimo elders and learned their ways. “In my talk on April 18, I will be telling how the indigenous people crossed from Siberia into Alaska over 13,000 years ago and their migration into Southern Alaska,” says Tuten. “In addition, I will show my artifact collection and demonstrate how various pieces were used.”
