Field Research

The Texas Chapter of The Explorers Club — a thriving community of field scientists and conservationists committed to the preservation of the instinct to explore.

Who We Are

Field Scientists.
Conservationists.
Explorers.

The Explorers Club was founded in New York City in 1904 with a simple purpose: to advance scientific exploration and give explorers a home. In the 120-plus years since, members have been first to the North Pole, first to the South Pole, first to the summit of Everest, first to the deepest point in every ocean, and first to walk on the moon.

The Texas Chapter carries that legacy across a four-state region. Our members have mounted isolated mountain summits, plunged into the depths of the ocean, traversed undiscovered lands, and uncovered ancient civilizations.

About the Chapter
01
Science in the Field

Our members are working scientists, conservationists, who do the work where it actually matters: in rivers, space, trenches, jungles, oceans, polar stations, and cave systems.

02
A Community, Not a Credential

Membership requires demonstrated achievement in field research or exploration. Once you’re in, this is a club in the truest sense: people who share a serious commitment to the work and enjoy each other’s company. It’s also a vibrant network to share ideas and collaborate on cutting edge research.

03
The Long View

The Explorers Club has been doing this since 1904. Our members don’t chase trends. They follow questions, sometimes for years or decades, because the science demands it.
