Jennifer Idol is a seasoned expert in diving, design, and visual storytelling, dedicated to inspiring others to explore and protect the natural world. Through her underwater photography and filmmaking, she reveals the beauty and wonder of aquatic environments, forging deep connections between people and nature.

Jennifer made history as the first woman to dive in all 50 U.S. states, a journey she documented in her acclaimed book, An American Immersion. Her powerful imagery and narratives have been featured in prominent publications, including DIVER, SCUBA Diving, and Alert Diver. Recognized for her contributions to the diving community, Jennifer has been honored as a PADI® AmbassaDiver (2017, 2018), a Fellow of The Explorers Club, and a member of the Ocean Artists Society.

As an expedition leader with Big Fish Expeditions, Jennifer guides others to experience unforgettable wildlife encounters, from swimming alongside whale sharks, sperm whales, and humpback whales, to diving with tiger sharks.

Jennifer is also a core team member and experimental diver for Avelo, a groundbreaking innovation in scuba diving. She spearheads the photography, videography, and communication efforts for the revolutionary Avelo System, which integrates the Hydrotank and Jetpack to redefine the diving experience.
