An explorer at heart, Dr. Bohacs has worked on six continents and in 42 countries. He’s a Life Fellow of the Explorers Club and has even collaborated with NASA on the Mars Rover project. His expertise extends to field safety, co-authoring the bestselling manual “Field Safety in Uncontrolled Environments” and conducting numerous expedition seminars at EC HQ in NYC.

Dr. Bohacs is an Eagle Scout, active Scoutmaster, a fellow of the Geological Society of America and the Royal Geographical Society, and an honorary member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. His work has been cited over 8,000 times.

In 2024, the American Geosciences Institute awarded him the Marcus Milling Legendary Geoscientist Medal for his lifetime achievements. Dr. Bohacs currently operates KMBohacs GEOconsulting, continuing to push the boundaries of geological understanding.
