Having lived and worked around the world, Wayne is a Texas Chapter member and a resident of Rockport, Texas where he resides with his wife. Their home is filled with museum-quality artifacts from important expeditions from the last two centuries.
Wayne White is the third Station Manager to do two winters at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station and will now be the first in the station’s 64-year history to manage the station for three. He recently posted that he completed 3,000 miles of walking daily in Antarctica no matter what the weather conditions wearing a
Siberian wolf anorak he made in Russia to Ronald Amundsen’s specifications.
Last year, Wayne treated fellow Texas Explorers to a tour of his artifact collection from historic expeditions and an evening lecture describing life in the south pole winter.
